Erie Canal Docks with Shore Power
27 along the canal, Troy → Buffalo
If you run air conditioning, charge a big house bank, or just like the comfort of shore power on an overnight, this is your list: the docks and marinas along the Erie Canal with electric hookups. Many canal towns provide power right on the free wall — a genuine luxury for a municipal dock — while full-service marinas offer the higher-amp service larger boats need.
These stops are ordered east to west from Troy to Buffalo. Where we’ve confirmed the service level, the card shows the amperage (commonly 30-amp, with 50-amp at the bigger marinas). Each links to its own page for the full picture: water, pump-out, fuel, and how far it is to town.
Shore-power pedestals and their amperage can change, and free-wall power is often seasonal. Confirm before you rely on it, and check current conditions with the New York State Canal Corporation.
